Fit Test
Exercise training programmes before and after surgery can help recovery after surgery and help prevent complications .
Access to this type of support face to face currently is restricted because of the COVID pandemic.
The use of a digital solution such as F4S can provide immediate access to a tailored-training programme which can empower patients to take control when, where and how they undertake exercise.

The benefits of the app
Over 50,000 patients per year in the UK undergo major chest or abdominal surgery. Complications can occur after these operations, and may result in an increased risk of death, admission to intensive care and a longer hospital stay.
Our patient group identified the need for a programme to optimise physical condition before and after help with recovery after surgery
Therefore, our team developed and tested a face to face programme called ROC. The results of this programme were excellent but access to such programmes across the country was limited.
So then our team developed a digital solution Fit 4 surgery.
